Grand Theft Auto V: The next generation version of Grand Theft Auto 5 which is going to be expanded and enhanced with new features and content coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in 2021. So since rockstar and sony revealed that the playstation 5 was going to get a new version of Grand Theft Auto 5. It would also be coming to Xbox Series X on June 11th we haven't heard anything from Rockstar the only thing they promised was that there was going to be many more details in the months to head we haven't seen anything from them yet well we kind of got the first sign of life. The other day as a PlayStation 5 Amazon listing for GTA 5 Saturday Amazon Mexico finally put up the announced Grand Theft Auto 5 listing for the next generation systems prior to its reveal almost two months ago from sony's future of gaming event. Standard edition PlayStation 5 brand is Rockstar Games platform PlayStation 5.
It does not have a price a pre-order date or a release date on the listing as of yet and like i mentioned no indication of any release date or pre-order date at this time though the listing does suggest that multiple editions for the game. Will vary from a standard editions and other editions yet to be announced as per according to the titling of the project so this is not uncommon for what we see for rockstar games releases. We saw this in GTA 5 where they had a standard edition an upgraded version and then like a premium edition we saw this with Red Dead Redemption 2. So it would not be shocking if rockstar did the exact same thing with the PlayStation 5.
Now i don't expect them to do like a crazy physical copy that comes with some like ultra rare edition of an item. But there will probably be some like shark card bonuses or in-game items or monetary rewards that come with purchasing an enhanced version of the game. Now as a quick refresher the only information we've gotten from Rockstar regarding the PlayStation 5 version of GTA 5 has come in two forms. The first has been an announcement trailer that they actually put out when the event happened and remember people went crazy about this when they saw the rockstar games logo but what was so weird about this trailer is even though it was advertising this game for the PlayStation 5. It was using footage from the PlayStation 3. Which i think made a lot of people go like why are they doing this like i can understand why they can't maybe show off PlayStation 5 footage. It would have been ultra cool if they did that but some of the footage was literally from like 2013 like they couldn't be bothered to re-record some of the footage and i'm probably just nitpicking here and being very overly critical.
But it seems like others have displayed their displeasure for rockstar re-releasing GTA 5 again as the ratings on i guess Rockstar and Sony's trailer not all that positive the comments not all that positive as well. So, that's the first thing they did and which they revealed that it was coming to playstation 5 in 2021 and then from there we've heard from what they said on the newswire as recently revealed at Sony's PlayStation 5 digital event. The journeys of Michael, Franklin & Trevor are coming to a new generation of Consoles encompassing PlayStation 5 in the second half of 2021. The new production editions of GTA 5 will improve an expanse of technical modifications visual upgrades and achievement enhancements to take full goal of the latest hardware making the game more beautiful and more responsive. Than always and for the huge and active community of Grand Theft Auto Online performers worldwide the journey throughout the ever-evolving joined in world of GTA Online will continue on to the new production with more new update's incorporating more GTA Online content exclusive to the new Consoles and PC.
There will also be a new standalone version of Grand Theft Auto Online coming during the second half of 2021. Which will be available for free exclusively for PlayStation 5 players during the first three months and then really the only other thing they say is stay tuned to the rockstar newswire for many more details on the new versions of Grand Theft Auto 5 and much more. To come in the months ahead so that was back on June 11th. We are halfway through the month of July right now a little over halfway through the month of july and we haven't heard anything from Rockstar. Since so i wonder if they're waiting for the PlayStation 5 to be revealed if they're waiting for Sony and Microsoft to make their first move it would seem kind of awkward for rockstar to reveal too much information before the actual consoles come out. But in another way it would also make a lot of sense because there's a lot of questions here like How is my character going to work is it going to be able to transfer over.
Will i keep all of my money what are the exclusive updates going to be like how are those going to function. So i feel like it would be in Rockstar's best interest if they did sort of like an asked and answer where they do sort of cover some of the most prominent questions that have been asked about a another re-release of GTA 5 on an upcoming Console and i'm sure many people will just say well look what Rockstar did when they went from the Xbox 360 and PS3 to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Well there's a couple of differences number one character transfers were clearly announced back. When that happened and rockstar has since actually disabled character transfer. So i wonder if they would re-enable that also at the time there was no announcement that. There was going to be exclusive dlcs for about a year Rockstar continued to provide all updates. That you would get on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on the PS3 and Xbox 360. So all four of those systems would still be getting the same content. So that's why there's a ton of differences here and obviously we don't know Rockstar's exclusivity agreement yet with Sony. I mean they did make their entire announcement at Sony's event.
But we don't know like what exclusive items the Sony. There are a lot of questions here so when more information is available for the pre-order date and any new details on the port to the PS5 and Xbox Series X. I'll be sure to let you guys know but for now that is pretty much everything I guess at a minimum it is a sign of life from Rockstar or a mistake on either Amazon or Sony's or the PlayStation 5's side. But either way again we're starting to see these listings appear if i had to take a guess on the price since it looks like all PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Games are going to be getting a little bit of bump up in price. I think it's going to start at 70 i think we will see like an enhanced version for like 90 and then probably like a super ultra premium edition. That includes a bunch of in-game stuff for like a hundred and ten hundred and twenty dollars if you really want it and it also wouldn't surprise me if all of those non-standard editions are all digital copies of the game.
Now one thing i totally didn't even consider is i wonder if Rockstar is actually planning on announcing something at Xbox's event that's going to be happening over the summer. So i know that they officially announced GTA 5 coming to the next gen consoles on PlayStation 5's event. But i don't think that exclusively means they can't reveal anything at Xbox's event maybe. This is what they're waiting on which at this point in time is supposed to take place from like July 21st through the 27th and on that front the Xbox game showcase actually happens on July 23rd at 9 00 a.m pacific time which is 12 a.m eastern time for me. I'm sure you guys can figure out what time that is wherever you are in the world. So if we are going to see anything from Rockstar that's probably going to be the next opportunity again it's no guarantee but i think we should all be focused on next thursday the 23rd is something interesting could of course be announced.
What do you think of this new mysterious listing on Amazon for a Grand Theft Auto 5 version on the PS5 and do you think we will get some more information. from them soon.
